Founder, CEO & President Hisashi Kitami

Born and raised in Yokohama, Japan, Kitami has achieved great success in real estate development and brokerage services. At the age of 26, he founded List Company, which has grown to more than 300 employees in Japan. The List Company brokerage arm has earned a reputation for providing knowledgeable, exceptional service to clients for more than two decades. In addition, the development arm of the company has completed successful projects such as List Garden and List Residence condominiums in Japan.


Mr. Kitami’s deep commitment to the local community has molded his vision for the Oahu operations, which includes the growth of local business, continued development of the Asia-Hawaii market, and local condominium and residential development. Raised near the beaches of Kamakura, Japan, Mr. Kitami is an avid surfer and now spends leisure time in the waters off Honolulu, a city he has visited more than 100 times. He is also very involved in sports and community organizations in Yokohama, including the Yokohama Baystars, a professional baseball team, and the Yokohama Mariners, a professional soccer team.

LIST Sotheby's International Realty, Inc., is a wholly owned subsidiary of LIST Co., Ltd., a leading real estate and development company based in Kanagawa, Japan. Established in 1991 by Mr. Hisashi Kitami, LIST Co., Ltd. has developed and sold over 7,000 condominium and housing units in Japan.

With a vision beyond Japan, a dedicated Hawaii team began to represent an increasing number of Japanese home buyers in Hawaii. With the help of Sotheby's International Realty a series of introductions were made and a plan was developed to bring together Oahu's most highly regarded professionals to create an Oahu luxury real estate company that would become the unrivaled leader.
